About Us
Children need the freedom and the time to play; play is not a luxury, play is a necessity.
Kay Redfield Jamison
Tiny hands academy was born from the love and dedication of a local speech language pathologist, Melissa Dunbar. She has been working with children with children of all abilities since 1994. She opened her first classroom in 2013 for children ages 18-36 months. She recruited her longtime friends Nancy Whitmore and Pam Conine, who have been early childhood professionals for over 35 years. Tiny Hands expanded to provide preschool services for 3- to 5-year-olds. They strive to create an early childhood environment of enrichment, diversity and inclusion for their children. Their focus is on open ended play to teach through exploration, creativity and social interaction.
